2 DAY MODERN PLASTER CLASS WITH TEXTURLINE CANADIAN PLASTERS AND GLAZES: March 26-27, 2020

The principal behind this class is showing ways to create finishes that can duplicate traditional plasters using hybrid products that are fast and easy to use. In most cases these can be completed in a day, very useful when creating seamless texture in smaller areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.
Each finish has easy to follow steps from primer, plaster texture, colour and protective coat for washability. In many cases when training we can start samples and finish all steps quickly being dry in less than one hour.
Another advantage is we can apply the products on lightweight styrene sheets as the plasters are flexible and will not crack or peel. We can tint the products creating formulas so as to repeat the finish ad-finito.
Below are the proposed finishes - colors may change to accommodate specific requests by the group at the time of set up.
We will start the process by doing the finishes and continue them finally completing protection on the last day.
On an average class we complete about 18 boards, 24 x 16 inches.
Though we are preparing a full explanation of steps, colors additives etc. You will be required to add your own comments to fill any gaps in your understanding of how you completed the effect.
We will cater the event lunch with soft drinks, coffee and bottled water provided.
We will also limit the attendance so reserve early as this class can be overbooked fast.
Bring your own tools and we will give you our opinion to make sure they are the ones you will need to be successful. We will provide you as a gift with a set a spatulas and the new Co Me Bianco. This trowel that guarantees not to leave any carbon marking on the plaster surface when burnishing. (a value of 165.00)

MASTER CLASS: LIME PLASTER: April 10-11, 2020

This course is for those who wish to push the envelope using methods from European craftsmen creating finishes that are both organic in nature and made with traditional methods used in Italy. The instructor is Barry Affleck expert in the field of plasters, he is well known to local applicators and artists and will feature a range of high-quality lime-based products under the label ‘Intonaco’.
The market is saturated with imports from everywhere on the planet, why another plaster?
As of late manufacture has become costly and as these products are hard to define properly and standards do not exist, water is cheap, certain less scrupulous manufacturers dilute products so they become less expensive. This is particularly noticeable when coloring lime plasters they will turn to soup when high pigment loading is added. After visiting several manufacturers in Italy, our company settled on a source that has been manufacturing plasters for over 50 years, whose plant is state of the art, using certified raw materials. The limestone is fired in kilns using recycled combustibles. This produces a green product with no VOC’s and a containing high percentage of renewable sourced raw material. Very careful attention is given to quality control and micro filtration to produce the best Grassello (lime putty) in Italy, combined with graded white marble and sands producing one the finest Marmorino and lime plasters available today.
