Lime plaster and Fresco techniques

This course is for those who wish to push the envelope using methods from European craftsmen creating finishes that are both organic in nature and made with traditional methods used in Italy.

The market is saturated with imports from everywhere on the planet, why another plaster?

As of late manufacture has become costly and as these products are hard to define properly and standards do not exist, water is cheap, certain less scrupulous manufacturers dilute products so they become less expensive. This is particularly noticeable when coloring lime plasters, they will turn to soup when high pigment loading is added.

After visiting several manufacturers in Italy, our company settled on a source that has been manufacturing plasters for over 50 years, whose plant is state of the art, using certified raw materials. The limestone is fired in kilns using recycled combustibles. This is a green product with no VOC’s containing a percentage of renewable sourced raw material. Very careful attention is given to quality control and micro filtration to produce the best Grassello (lime putty) in Italy, combined with graded white marble and sands producing one the finest Marmorinos and lime plasters available on the Canadian market.
