THIS polished plaster is used for decorative finishes over primed surfaces without visible defects. The highly polished plaster has a soft subtle marble like structure when applied with a two tone underlayer as the shading will create soft structured effects. If applied in one colour, as it contains lime, it will give a typical white overlay that Italian lime plasters are known for. We recommend that contractors use our primer coats under Calce Veneziano to get the best and most efficient use. Texturline manufactures two products Texprime and Sharktooth primer. Color and coloring: Calce Veneziano is normally tinted into the base with universal colorants to any paint manufacturers colour chip. Coverage will vary greatly according to the thickness of application. A 25 kg pail will vary from 500sq. ft. to 700sq. ft. as a multi layer Venetian plaster effect. Application If the surface is a level 2 or 3, we recommend leveling it with drywall compound before attempting Calce Veneziano polished plaster, allow 24 hours drying time before priming with Texprime. If the substrate is a level 4 or 5, prime with Texprime dry time 4 hours: followed that by a full coat of Calce Veneziano. When this coat has dried up to four hours, depending on humidity, you can commence the decorative application of the plaster , allow 24 hours drying time waxing with burnishing wax. After the wax is applied burnish with the trowel to get a movement, for a higher sheen use an orbital sander with a 3000 grit disc after 24 hours dry time minimum.
