Step-by-Step Application Guide
1. Surface Preparation & Priming
First, ensure your surface is smooth, clean, dry, and free of dust or waxy contaminants.
-
New Substrates (Concrete, Drywall, Plasterboard): Apply 1 coat of Texprime using a roller or brush and let dry for 6 hours.
-
Sound Existing Surfaces (Civil Plaster, Paint): Brush down thoroughly, then apply 1 coat of Sharktooth Primer.
-
Powdery or Waxy Surfaces: Sand to a stable base, dust off, and apply the appropriate primer.
2. First Plaster Coat
Remove any standing water from the top of the container before use. Apply an even base layer with a clean steel trowel at approximately 20 sq. ft. per kg. Maintain a consistent thickness across the wall and allow it to dry completely for 12 hours.
3. Second Plaster Coat & Styling
Apply the second coat (approx. 30 sq. ft. per kg) over the dry base layer. Adjust your troweling technique—using sweeping or multidirectional passes—to achieve your target flat Venetian, pitted, or cloud effect.
4. Protective Wax Finish (Cera Naturale)
Allow the plaster to dry for at least 48 hours at 20°C (68°F). Shake Cera Naturale well and work it into the surface in 5 sq. ft. sections using a soft sponge until fully absorbed. Buff off excess wax immediately with a clean microfiber or cotton cloth.
💡 Pro Tip: Always create a job-site sample panel before starting full installation, especially when executing custom colour tints or specialized clouding techniques, to verify the exact final sheen and texture under site lighting.
