Substrate Preparation & Priming System
Ensure all target surfaces are clean, dry, and structurally sound before applying plaster.

New Substrates (Concrete, Drywall, Gypsum): Apply 1 coat of Protek Sharktooth Primer or Texprime (a white, quartz-aggregate water-based primer).

Old Intact Surfaces (Plaster, Breathable Paint): Brush down thoroughly to remove dust and debris, then apply 1 coat of quartz primer.

Chalky, Waxy, or Aged Surfaces: Sand the surface thoroughly, brush clean, and apply 1 coat of quartz primer to ensure a solid bond.
Step-by-Step Application Guide
1. Base Application & Vein Creation
First, mix your liquid colorants into the base until homogeneous (let rest for 12 hours for optimal color dispersion). Trowel 2 coats of Travertino Roma using a stainless steel trowel. During the drying stage of the final coat, repeatedly scratch the surface with a spatula or artist’s brush using colored liquid wax to create horizontal striations or stone veins. Burnish and polish the surface while soft to smooth out joint lines.
2. Optional Tinted Glaze Topcoat
Allow the plaster base to dry for 12 hours. Apply 1 or 2 coats of tinted Basic Glaze using a soft, lightly soaked sponge over 0.5 m² sections. Wipe away excess glaze with a soft cloth to accentuate pitted details and depth.
3. Indoor Beeswax Protection
Allow the finished plaster to dry for at least 48 hours. Apply 1 coat of Beeswax (for interior surfaces only) using a soft sponge in 0.5 m² sections. Buff and polish immediately with a dry microfiber cloth to lock in color and seal the plaster.
