Application & Styling Options
Vesuvio serves as an adaptable canvas for various high-end decorative finishes.
-
Substrate Preparation: Ensure your target surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound. Apply 1 coat of Texprime to regulate substrate absorption and maximize bond strength.
-
Plaster Application: Trowel Vesuvio evenly or with intentional irregular strokes. Work the wet plaster using a Venetian trowel, texture tool, or sea sponge to expose the internal aggregates.
-
Polished Highlights & Topcoats: Burnish high ridges with the edge of a stainless steel trowel to create smooth, luminous contrasts against raw textured recessed areas. Once cured, enhance the finish with protective wax or metallic washes.
💡 Pro Tip: While the plaster is still tacky, pass over high points with a clean stainless steel trowel using firm pressure. This burnishing pass smooths out the top ridges while leaving the recessed valleys rough, naturally producing Vesuvio’s signature dual-texture contrast.
